FAQs at A.I.M Muscles and Joints
What can I expect in my first appointment?
During your first appointment, you can expect that your practitioner will take a comprehensive history to gain an understanding of your presenting injury or condition, plus to gauge your overall health and wellbeing.
Depending on your condition your practitioner will conduct a physical examination which may involve doing certain movements or tests. Our therapists will conduct a hands-on assessment, where they will palpate and examine areas of the body that are related to your condition. Depending on the service you are seeking, your first appointment may involve treatment therapies including exercise therapy or hands-on manual therapy.
What do I need to bring/wear?
If you have any scans, reports, or referrals from other health care practitioners, please bring these to the session.
For our manual therapies session, some practitioners may require you to expose areas of skin to get the best out of the treatment (for example, if massage therapy is required).
Can I use my Private health insurance?
Many of our services are offered under ‘extras’ in private health insurance policies. Each private health insurer offers different policies for different services, so it is best to contact your insurer to find out what rebates you are entitled to. You can claim your private health insurance rebate on the day of your appointment at our clinic.
